The hand painted banner will be based on photographs by Chris Sm!th of Carmen Townsend, David Myles and The Tom Fun Orchestra. The completed piece will travel with Music Nova Scotia to the ECMA’s from February 26-March 1, 2009 and be used as their stage backdrop for the entire event.

The three selected artists will work on creating this great work of art together LIVE at the Seahorse on Argyle Street during Music Nova Scotia’s Open Mic on Tuesday, February 17th in the Industry Room.

Montreal-based Art Cabaret presents an East Coast first: A showcase of Halifax's hip hop culture mixed with the artwork of painter Peter Farmer.
Following performances by some of the city's best, the artist will replicate a live, topless mermaid on stage, accompanied by live beats from DJ Gordski and Skratch Bastid. Come dance the night away and experience the Art Cabaret's first appearance in Halifax.
